T-Rex Puppet
Posted on May 22nd, 2009 by Philip

This puppet was built for a friend down in South Carolina. He is the Creative Director for a Christian retreat center called Look Up Lodge in Traveler’s Rest. They offer Summer Camp programs for kids, which is where Mr. T-Rex will be used in live presentations about dinosaurs.

He is covered in a vinyl “snakeskin” fabric for a more realistic feel.

The claws were made out of polymer clay,…

…the eyes were made from glass taxidermy eyes,…

…and the teeth were carved directly out of foam for a nice soft bite–because experience has taught me that kids love to stick their hands directly into puppets’ mouths!

AWESOME. I feel like roaring.
I have wanted to make a dinosaur puppet using material like that for years. Great work, as always!
unbelievable. beautiful work.
